The bearing industry is suffering a low not seen in my 30 years of industry experience, although companies involved in coal mining are feeling it more than those involved in hard rock it seems it is across the board. The two major suppliers have contracts spread across all industries, they are probably not feeling as much pressure for sales however as the “recession’ continues stock holdings in all the major factories are in decline in the hope of reducing stocks to maintain profitability, this has a flow on effect over all industries as worldwide bearing stocks are reducing.
Our sales division Bearing Dynamics is less effected by this “stock reduction” as it deals with authorised distributors around the world, this means we have access not only to the factories but also the stocks of some of the biggest bearing distributors in the world.
A recent case on a large taper assembly the factory quoted local suppliers 40 weeks delivery, Bearing Dynamics sourced one in one of our authorised distributors warehouse and had it in Australia in two weeks allowing the overhaul to be completed 6 months ahead of schedule.
